The Bucharest Center for Political Theory is a Romanian research group, founded in 2017, which aims to provide an institutional framework for the development and promotion of research within the fields of political theory and normative analysis at both a national and international level. We seek to pursue this aim by organizing various projects and events, which include an annual international conference in contemporary analytical political theory, a weekly workshop on political theory, lectures, roundtables, and others.
The Center is instutionally independent and its members are affiliated with several universities in Bucharest. In-person events are usually organized in partnerships with departments or faculties in the University of Bucharest and SNSPA (National University of Political Science and Public Administration). BCEPT adheres to and upholds the values of liberal democracy and seeks to contribute to their consolidation within Romania and the international landscape.
